Fe 11 Football League vs Valley Rovers Tues June 7th

The Fe 11 footballers had an exciting home league game with Valley last week. Nemo Glas played in a goal fest but lost out 6-04 to 3-03. They played very well but Valley were deserved winners. Nemo Dubh’s game was somewhat different with scores harder to come by. The Valley defense was very strong and in the end that was the difference with Nemo Dubh losing 1-06 to 1-02. Again they played well but just came up short against a very good Valley Rovers selection.


Fe 13 C3 Football League vs Carrigaline Thurs June 9th

The Fe 13 C3 boys played a very exciting game with Carrigaline last week. The lead changed hands 5 times during the course of the game. However, with 5 minutes to go Nemo were a few points behind. They laid siege to the Carrigaline goal but just couldn’t break through. In the end they lost on a score line of 5-06 to 4-05. They showed great heart and determination throughout and were a little unlucky to lose.


Fe 14 P1 Football League vs Glanmire Fri June 10th

The Fe 14 P1 team played a hard fought game with Glanmire – the Cork Feile champions – last week. Glanmire started the brighter and were soon 4 points ahead. But Nemo settled and a well worked goal put them right back into contention. They were level coming up to half time but an unfortunate goal left them trailing by 3 at half time 1-06 to 1-03. The second half was a rip roaring affair. Nemo got back to within a point but Glanmire scored a goal and a few points to put daylight between the teams again. Nemo took over coming into the last few minutes but they started to go for goals when easy points were on offer. They eventually did get a goal but at that stage it was too late. In the end Glanmire deservedly won on a score line of 2-12 to 2-07.


Fe 9 Camogie Blitz Fri June 10th

The Glen, Cobh and Ballygarvan visited Nemo last Friday night for a very enjoyable Fe 9 Camogie Blitz. The Nemo girls did really well and held their own against the opposition.  Every team played each other in a round robin series. It was a great evening’s camogie and everybody enjoyed it. Many thanks to our vistors.


Fe 14 Camogie vs Kilbrie Fri June 10th

The Fe 14 Camogie team headed to Kilbrie in West Cork for a tough challenge last week. The first touch and skills of the Kilbrie girls was a joy to watch. Despite trying their hardest the Nemo girls were out played on the night. It was  another step on the steep learning curve for them.


St Leagues Finals Day Sat June 11th

The annual Street League Finals took place this month. With 400 children participating in hurling, football and camogie finals, it was a really busy and fun filled day in the club. This was the culmination of 8 weeks of games every Friday night. The final games were robust as always and every child had a great time. The games were followed by the club BBQ which went down a treat after the days sporting activity. All in all – a great success. Many thanks to this year’s organizing committee and especially St Leagues chairman Mark Kane.


Girls Fe 10 Football League vs Grenagh Sun June 12th

The Fe 10 girls travelled to Grenagh last Sunday for a league football game. They played really well and showed some great skill and determination. Grenagh never gave up and got some excellent scores themselves. But in the end Nemo won on a score line of 7-05 to 3-01.


Fe 13 P1 Football League vs Midleton Sun June 12th

The Fe 13 P1 boys recorded their first league win of the season last Sunday. They played really well and despite dominating in the first half they found themselves 3 points down at half time. However, they turned things around quickly in the second half and coming into the last 10 minutes they were 9 points up. Inexplicably they conceded 3 late goals as Midleton fought back Cork style to level the game. But  a late Nemo point gave them a deserved one point win. Well done to both teams for producing such an entertaining game of football. Final score was 3-10 to 5-03 in favor of Nemo.


Fe 11 Football League vs Ballincollig Mon June 13th

The Fe 11 footballers had two good wins over Ballincollig in the league last week. Both games were tight affairs but both Nemo Glas and Nemo Dubh prevailed in two high scoring affairs.


Minor Football Challenge vs Aghada Mon June 13th

The minor footballers had a tough home challenge with Aghada last Monday. It was a tough contest but Nemo’s greater fire power up front told in the end. They won well. It was a very useful outing for both teams and we thank Aghada for travelling to provid the challenge.


Fe 14 C3 Football Challenge vs St Michaels Tues June 14th

The Fe 14 C3 team had a useful challenge against St Michaels in Mahon last week. While they were never troubled on the score board it was a good outing for Nemo to try players in different positions. Many thanks to Michaels for hosting the challenge.


Fe 12 P1 Football Challenge vs Ballygarvan Tues June 14th

The Fe 12 boys had a very useful run out against a very competitive Ballygarvan outfit last week. The game was tight throughout with great skill being shown from both sides. No score was kept but it was a good practice session for both teams. Many thanks to Ballygarvan for hosting the challenge.


Girls Fe 12 B3 Football League SF vs Bishopstown Tues June 14th

The Girls Fe 12 B team played in their league semi-final last week away to Bishopstown. The ‘Town were well on top in the first half. But Nemo rallied and the girls got it back to a few points midway through the second half. But the comeback was short lived and Bishopstown ran out deserving winners in the end on a score line of 4-06 to 2-05. Well done to them. And well done to the Nemo girls who had a fantastic league campaign.


Fe 13 C3 Football League vs St Finbarrs Fri June 17th

The Nemo boys continued their league campaign with an exciting win over near neighbours and rivals St Finbarrs last week. Nemo were dominant in the first half and led well at half time. But the Barrs rallied and the game was a real contest in the second half. In the end Nemo had 5 points to spare winning on a score line of 5-07 to 3-08.


Girls Fe 10 Football League vs Eire Og Fri June 17th

The young Nemo girls had a hard fought win over rivals Eire Og last Friday night. This was a top of the table clash. There was nothing between the sides skill wise. But Nemo took more of the chances that came their way. In the end Nemo won on a score line of 1-03 to 0-01.


Fe 8 C3 Camogie Blitz Fri June 17th

The young camogie girls had a very enjoyable blitz last Friday night in Trabeg. Playing selections from Cobh, Passage and Whites Cross, the girls equipped themselves very well indeed. They won two games and drew a third. Their skill levels are improving with every outing and they are really enjoying their camogie.


Girls Fe 14 Football Challenge vs Douglas Fri June 17th

Douglas hosted this challenge. The Nemo girls used the game to help prepare for Feile. The game was played over 4 quarters and all the girls got game time. Nemo played some great football and won well. Many thanks to Douglas for hosting the challenge.


Fe 11 Annual John Kerins Football Tournament Sat June 18th

The young Nemo footballers took part in the annual John Kerins tournament in Pairc Ui Rinn last Saturday. Their opponents at the quarter final stage were Glenville. The first half was very close but Glenville were ahead by a few scores at half time. Nemo played all 28 of their boys to give them the experience of playing in a stadium like Pairc Ui Rinn. Though they didn’t win they had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. Well done boys.


Fe 13 Football Challenge vs Clonakilty Sun June 19th

The Fe 13 boys travelled down to Clon for a lively football challenge last Sunday. Unfortunately the weather was poor but the boys still enjoyed the experience. The game itself was tight and ended in a draw. 3 twenty minute periods were played and all 20 Nemo boys played. Many thanks to Clonakilty for their hospitality on the day.


Girls Fe 14 Football Challenge vs Passage Mon June 20th

Continuing their preparations for Feile, the girls had a useful run out against Passage this week. The game was split into 4 quarters to allow all panel members game time. The Nemo girls are playing great football at the minute and they won well in the end. Let’s hope they can bring this form to the Feile! Many thanks to Passage for providing the challenge.


Fe 11 Football League vs Carrigaline Mon June 20th

The Fe 11 footballers had a tough league encounter with Carrigaline last Monday night in Trabeg. Nemo Dubh lost narrowly while Nemo Glas had a narrow win. Overall a pleasing performance by the boys. The football was of a very standard from both clubs. This completed the Fe 11 boys league and they are currently top of the table. Other teams have games in hand but overall this was a very good campaign by the Nemo boys.
