Girls Fe 11 Football League vs St Vals Tues July 26th

Played in Trabeg the young nemo girls continued their Summer League with a tough encounter against a very good St Vals selection. Despite their best efforts they never got close to their rivals on the score board. In the end it was a comfortable win for St Vals.

Fe 14 C3 Football League vs Ballincollig Thurs July 28th

Played in Ballincollig this was a cracking game of football. Nemo led from the start with great points from Aaron Delaney and a goal from Dylan Twomey. They opened up a 7 point lead coming into half time. But in a great passing move the home side scored a vital goal just before half time. Half time it was 2-06 to 1-05 in favour of Nemo. The goal spurred on the home side and they started to find the range. They took over for a period in midfield and scored 1-04 without a reply. Nemo made some positional switches and with the hard working David Buckley wining ball in the middle they steadied the ship to equalize. But a late goal and a point put Ballincollig in the driving seat. Nemo did score a goal with a minute to go to make the home side nervous but fair play to Ballincollig – they held out for a deserved one point win. Final score was 3-12 to 4-08.

Minor Football Challenge vs Cork U17s Fri July 29th

A novel pairing in Trabeg this was an excellent test for the Nemo minors. Both sides played some excellent football. But Nemo had the better team work and managed to win by two points. Great exercise for both teams. Many thanks to the Cork team for providing the challenge.

Fe 12 Hurling League vs Aghabullogue Tues Aug 2nd

Played in Coachford this was a very tight affair. There was never more than a single score between the teams. They matched each other in every department for skill and endeavor. However, Aghabullogue were able to take long range point scoring opportunities better than Nemo. That was the difference in the end. Final score was 3-06 to 3-03 for the home side. Well done to the Nemo boys who put up a great show on the night.

Fe 14 B Hurling League vs Courcey Rovers Thurs Aug 4th

A depleted Nemo side travelled to Ballinspittle for an entertaining hurling league encounter last week. Courcey’s settled very quickly and soon were a few goals ahead. Nemo tried very hard, especially Jack O’Brien, Darragh Egan and Sean Barrett. Darragh scored a great goal just before half time to give Nemo some hope. But in the second half the home side took over and their center forward gave an exhibition of point scoring. In the end the home side won comfortably. But well done to the Nemo boys who played on the night and showed great fighting spirit.

Fe 16 1 Football League vs Glanmire Fri Aug 5th

The Fe 16 boys had a top of the table clash with rivals Glanmire in Trabeg last Friday night. The first half was very close with never more than a point between the teams. Nemo led by the narrowest of margins at half time. In the second half Nemo began to dominate around the middle third. With surging runs into the Glanmire defense they began to open up their rivals. With a few minutes left they were 5 points ahead. A late somewhat scrappy goal put an unfair gloss on the score line for Nemo. Final score was 2-18 to 1-12 for Nemo. Given that Nemo had not played a football game in a few months, this was a very badly needed outing and a very good performance which augers well for their upcoming championship fixture.

Girls Fe 13 Football League vs Balinora Sun Aug 7th

The Fe 13 girls continued their summer campaign with a win away from home to Ballinora. The result was never in doubt as the Nemo girls dominated from start to finish. They had a comfortable win in the end despite a valiant effort from Ballinora.
