Fe 14 C3 Football League vs Carrigaline Gorm Thurs Aug 11th

The Fe 14’s continued their C3 campaign on a balmy night in Nemo against a tough Carrigaline selection. The first half was a very even contest but low scoring. Both teams wasted some gilt edged scoring chances. By half time Carrigaline had built up a hard earned 4 point lead 2-00 to 0-02. Nemo started the second half brightly and were soon within a point of Carrigaline. But the visitors pulled away again with some well taken points. Coming in to the closing 10 minutes Carrigaline held a two point lead 2-03 to 0-07. But with the help of some fresh legs from the bench and a great goal from David Buckley, Nemo took over. They outscored their rivals 5 points to nil in the last few minutes to win on a score line of 1-12 to 2-03.

 

Girls Fe 13 Football League vs Eire Og Fri Aug 12th

The Fe 13 girls played an away summer league game in Ovens recently against a very strong Eire Og Team. Although the Nemo girls tried very hard and scored some great goals, Eire Og’s ability to score points at vital stages won the day for them. In the end Nemo lost 3-01 to 2-11.

 

Girls Fe 11 Football League vs Carrigaline Fri Aug 12th

This was a very close affair played in Carrigaline. Defenses were on top on both sides and scores were hard to find. In the end Carrigaline found the range that bit easier and won out on a final score of 1-04 to 1-01. Good performance by the Nemo girls though against a very good Carrigaline team.

 

Minor Football Challenge vs Bandon Fri Aug 12th

Bandon provided a very lively challenge for the Nemo minors last week as they prepare for their upcoming championship game. In a free flowing game, Nemo dominated from the start. They scored some great goals to lead by 5 points at half time 2-07 to 1-05. They started the second half with a great goal that involved some great passing from backs to forwards. Bandon never gave up but in the end Nemo had too much for them winning 4-13 to 2-11. It was a good workout for the minors and we thank Bandon for providing the challenge.

 

Fe 7 Football Blitz Inisscarra Sat Aug 13th

The Fe 7 footballers had their very first outing last week. They had two teams and played a variety of selections from Blarney, St Nicks, Inisscarra and more. They all had a great time and really enjoyed it. They held their own in the games and they are all really looking forward to their next outing. 

 

Fe 10 Hurling League vs Crosshaven Sun Aug 14th

The Fe 10 boys continued their great form in the hurling with great displays away to Crosshaven recently. They had enough players for two teams each and the Nemo boys more than held their own in both games. They showed great skill and determination and they came out on top with two hard fought wins. Well done to both sets of players for the great entertainment they provided.

 

Fe 16 P1 Football Championship vs Mallow Mon Aug 15th

The Fe 16’s started their football championship with a round 1 bout against Mallow in the Mardyke. Mallow had previously beaten Nemo in the league so everyone was expecting a close encounter. However, Nemo were flying right from the start. They quickly opened up a 4 point lead and once the first goal went in there was no coming back for Mallow. They tried very hard but with great performances all over the field from Nemo they never got near on the score sheet. In the end Nemo had a comfortable and comprehensive win. They can now look forward to the next round that should happen within the next several weeks.

 

Fe 13 Football Challenge vs Glenville Tues Aug 16th

The Fe 13 had a very lively challenge with Glenville last week in Trabeg. Glenville were on top in the first half and at one stage they had a 9 point lead. But Nemo dug deep and the boys clawed their way back into the game. It was nip and tuck late on and in the end a draw was a fair result. Final score 3-08 to 2-11. Many thanks to Glenville for providing the opposition.

 

Fe 10 Football League vs Valley Rovers Thurs Aug 18th

The Fe 10s continued their summer campaign with a couple of very close games with Valley Rovers last week. Both clubs had two teams and both games were very close contests. In the end honors were even with Valley winning one game and Nemo the other. Great skill on display from both teams.

 

Minor Football Challenge vs Mitchelstown Fri Aug 19th

The minors continued their championship preparation with a tough challenge against Mitchelstown last week. This was a great encounter. There was never more than a few scores between the teams. In the end Nemo’s ability to raise white flags told. Their accuracy on front of the posts was excellent. Final score was 1-18 to 3-08 for Nemo. Many thanks to Mitchelstown for travelling for the challenge. Nemo are now well prepared for their upcoming championship game with Ballincollig on Aug 24th.

 

Fe 8 Football Blitz St Vincent’s Sat Aug 20th

The Fe 8 footballers travelled to St Vincent’s for a very entertaining blitz last Saturday. They entered two teams and played selections from Douglas, Glenville and St Nicks. They did very well and their mentors were very pleased with their performances. Many thanks to St Vincent’s for hosting the blitz.

 

Girls Fe 12 Football League SF vs St Val’s Mon Aug 22nd

The girls had a hard fought mid-cork semi-final win over St Val’s. They dominated the early exchanges and with a rock solid defense they led at the break 4-03 to 2-02. St Val’s never gave up and the game was in the balance throughout the second half until Nemo scored a couple of late goals to seal the win. Final score was 6-05 to 2-05. They can now look forward to a league final .Well done to all involved.
