Fe 14 Camogie Championship vs Ballinhassig Tues May 22nd

The Fe 14 girls had their championship outing at home to Ballinhassig two weeks ago. The first half was very even with both sets of defences on top. Scores were hard to come by and at half time the visitors led by 2 points to 1. The first 15 minutes of the second half followed the same pattern as the first. But eventually the pressure told on the Nemo defence and Ballinhassig started to get through for scores. The Nemo girls battled to the last but in the end they lost comprehensively.


Fe 10 Hurling League vs Ballinhassig Thurs May 24th

The Fe 10 boys played Ballinhassig in Trabeg last week. Both clubs had enough players for 4 games of 8 aside. The Ballinhassig boys were that little sharper than Nemo and won out in all games. But in general Nemo matched them. Great turnout for the games with 32 Nemo boys participating.


Fe 18 Non-Exam Football League vs St Michaels Thurs May 24th

Nemo minors travelled to Mahon to continue their non-exam league campaign last week. They were understrength on the night and this showed as a physically stronger St Michaels team were on top for most of the game. However, Nemo did play some good football and got in for some good scores. However their efforts were not enough on the night and St Michaels had a comfortable win. Good experience for the Nemo boys who will learn from the game.


Fe 7 Monster Football Blitz @ Pairc Ui Chaoimh Sat May 26th

The Fe 7s travelled in force to Pairc Ui Chaoimh 4G pitch last week for a football blitz. Over 40 Nemo boys participated in what was as very enjoyable occasion. The boys had a great time and played lots of games. Well done to all involved.


Fe 8 Mini Hurling Blitz @ Blackrock Sat May 26th

The Fe 8 boys travelled to Blackrock last week for a hurling Blitz. They played selections from Carrigaline, Blackrock and Passage. 3 Nemo teams were formed and 6 games were plated. They won 2, drew 1 and lost 3. Great experience for the boys as they matched their skills against boys from other clubs. Overall a very good morning’s hurling that will bring on the Nemo boys.


Fe 9 Hurling League vs Blackrock Sat May 26th

The Fe 9 boys also travelled to Blackrock for their league game last week. 19 Nemo boys participated. Two teams were formed and 4 games were played. All the games were very close with only a score or two between the sides in any game. Nemo won 2 games and lost 2 games so overall honours even.


Fe 14 C3 Football League vs Ballincollig Sat May 26th

The Fe 14 C3 boys entertained Ballincollig in Trabeg last week. The first half was close with Nemo shading it by a few points. But Nemo totally dominated the second half and playing some good passing football they ran out comfortable winners. They played a very good brand of football and their mentors were pleased with the performance.


Fe 11 Football League vs Clonakilty Sun May 27th

The Fe 11 boys travelled in force to Clonakilty last Sunday for a football league game. 32 Nemo boys participated, two even teams were formed and they plated two games. Both Nemo Dubh and Nemo Glas were well on top in both games and they recorded two wins. They played a very high standard of football and they had a great time.


Girls Fe 8/10 Football Blitz @ Balinora Sun May 27th

The Fe 8 and Fe 10 girls played in a football Blitz last week in Ballinora. They played selections from Grenagh and Ballinora. They won their games with Grenagh but Ballinora were very strong and they lost out in those games. Overall a very good morning of football by the girls and they all enjoyed the occasion. Many thanks to Ballinora for hosting.


Fe 13 P1 Football League vs Ballincollig Mon May 28th

The Fe 13 boys entertained Ballincollig in the league last week. Nemo were excellent in the first half and went in at half time 11-07 to 0-01 ahead. But Ballincollig produced a remarkable comeback in the second half. Nemo had to dig deep to keep in control of the game. In the end some late scores by Nemo rescued the points on a score line of 2-11 to 2-08.


Fe 12 Hurling League vs Blarney Mon May 28th

The Fe 12 hurlers entertained Blarney last week. The Blarney boys had some very accomplished hurlers on their team. But Nemo matched them for large periods of the game. The Nemo boys got some very good scores and were never more than a few scores behind. In the end they lost by a 6 point margin but their mentors were very happy with their performance.


Fe 13 C3 Football League vs Glanmire Tues May 29th

The Fe 13 C3 team played an exciting league game against Glanmire last week. Glanmire were quick to settle and soon had built up a healthy lead thanks to some well taken goals. The Nemo boys settled after 20 mins and from there to the end of the game the exchanges were very even. But the damage had been done early in the game by the visitors. Final score was 5-06 to 2-06 to Glanmire.


Girls Fe 12 A Football League vs St Vals Tues May 29th

The Fe 12 girls travelled to St Vals for a very exciting league game last week. The forward play from both sets of girls was top drawer. The big difference between the teams was the ability of the St Vals forwards to convert their goal chances. Nemo took points when possible goals were on. In the end the home side won out on a final score of 7-04 to 3-11.


Fe 14 B1 Hurling League vs Bishopstown Weds May 30th

The Fe 14 hurlers continued their league campaign with an away tie to neighbours Bishopstown. There was never more than a few points between the teams. Defences were on top in what was a low scoring affair. Nemo missed a lot of chances and should have been more comfortable but in the end they managed to scramble home for a hard earned one point win. Final score was 1-06 to 0-08 for Nemo.


Girls Fe 12 A Football League vs Naomh Aban Thurs May 31st

The Fe 12 girls entertained Naomh Aban in the A football league last week. The Nemo girls defence was very good on the night. The visitors found it very hard to get in for scores. At the other end of the field Nemo were finding it easier to convert their chances. In the end the girls had a 4-08 to 4-01 victory.


Fe 10 Football League vs Kinsale Fri Jun 1st

The Fe 10 footballers entertained Kinsale last Friday night. The boys had 27 participants and 3 teams were formed. Kinsale had similar numbers. The Nemo boys recorded two wins and one loss. Overall the standard was very high and the teams were well matched. An entertaining evening’s football.


Girls Fe 12 C Football League vs Eire Og Fri Jun 1st

The Fe 12 girls travelled to Ovens for a C league game last Friday. They played very well and their mentors were happy with the performance as the girls continue to develop their skills. Eire Og were a little slicker in front of goal. Final score was 6-03 to 2-01 for the home side.


Fe 10 Hurling League vs Inisscarra Sat Jun 2nd

The Fe 10 hurlers travelled to Ballyanly for a league game with Inisscarra last Saturday. 17 Nemo boys participated. Two even teams were formed and they played two very good games. The Inisscarra boys hurling skill was very good and they had some very accomplished players on view. This was the difference between the teams and the home side recorded two wins. Good experience for the Nemo hurlers and they will learn from it.


Fe 9 Football League vs Whitechurch Sat Jun 2nd

The Fe 9 boys entertained Whitechurch last Saturday. Nemo had 22 players and so two teams were formed. They played some very good football and they were too strong for the visitors. Both Nemo teams won and they showed how their football skills have been improving as the year progresses.


Girls Fe 14 B County SF vs Bride Rovers Sun Jun 3rd

The Fe 14 girls played the B grade county semi-final last Sunday. The game was even for the most part. The Nemo girls cause was not helped by the concession of a few soft scores. They also missed a few gilt edge chances. With two minutes remaining the teams were deadlocked. But Nemo won possession of the ball and worked a great point after some terrific passing. They won the subsequent kick out and scored again to leave 2 points between the teams. A dangerous lead but the girls managed to hold out to record a 1-11 to 2-06 win. They can now look forward to a county final against Aghada on the 24th of June. Well done to all involved and we wish the girls well in the final.


Fe 18 Non-Exam Football League vs St Finbarrs Tues Jun 5th

Nemo minors entertained neighbours St Finbarrs in their last non exam league game last Tuesday. Nemo started very brightly and soon they had a commanding lead. But the Barrs tacked on a few points late in the first half to leave the half time score at 1-09 to 0-06 for Nemo. Inexplicably Nemo faded out of the game on the resumption. The Barrs tore into the game and well worked goal and a penalty put them right back in contention. With 5 minutes remaining it was anybody’s game. But Nemo steadied and they scored a few late points to record a 1-14 to 2-09 win. This was their last non-exam league game and they finished a credible second in their group. Whether or not that is enough for them to progress to the league knockout stages remains to be seen. Well done to all the boys who participated in this very worthwhile competition.
