Fe 14 B1 Hurling League Final vs St Colmans Sat Oct 27th

The Fe 14 boys qualified for their league final after going undefeated throughout the year. Their opponents were St Colmans who they had already played in the East B1 championship final and county championship final. On both occasions Nemo had prevailed so it was always going to be a revenge mission for Colmans. The game was played in Whitescross and it turned out to be a very close affair. Scores were hard to come by and this was not helped by the tough conditions on the day. At half time the sides were level at 3 points apiece. In the second half Nemo had two great goal scoring opportunities but failed to take either. This was to prove decisive as St Colmans manged to get a winning point late in the game. The final score was 0-05 to 0-06 for St Colmans. We congratulate them on their league win. But it has been a great year for the Nemo boys winning the division and county championship titles. Well done to all involved in what was a remarkable year for the team.

Fe 12 Camogie League SF vs Blackrock Mon Oct 29th

The Fe 12 girls travelled to Blackrock for their league finals late last month. In a low scoring affair the Rockies prevailed on a score line of 2-02 to 0-01. But all was not lost for the Nemo girls as they qualified for the shield final where they faced north side rivals Na Piarsaigh. The girls played some great hurling and dominated the game from start to finish. In the end they prevailed on a score line of 3-03 to 0-01. A well-deserved victory and a great way for them to finish their league campaign. Well done girls.

Fe 13 C3 Football League SF vs Ballincollig Thurs Nov 1st

The Fe 13 C3 footballers travelled to Ballincollig for their league semi-final on the 1st of the month. Nemo started very well and were well worth their two point half time lead. The score was 2-00 to 0-04 at half time. But in the second half the hosts managed to score two quick goals that put them in the driving seat. The Nemo boys battled hard but they needed goals to get back into the game and the Ballincollig defence was very good. In the end Nemo lost on a final score of 2-08 to 2-01. A good league campaign by the boys who played some great football throughout the year.

Fe 10 Football Challenge vs Douglas Sat Nov 3rd

The Fe 10 footballers visited neighbours Douglas for a football challenge last week. 29 Nemo boys participated and 4 games were played. The games were very competitive and close. It was a great workout for the boys and we thank Douglas for hosting.

Fe 9 Football Challenge vs Carrigaline Sat Nov 3rd

The Fe 9 boys travelled to Carrigaline recently for a football challenge. Nemo fielded 3 teams and each team played 3 games. The games were played in a great spirit and the boys were happy to show off the skills they have been learning in the Saturday morning training sessions. All the games were close and competitive and it was deemed a very good experience for the boys. Many thanks to Carrigaline for hosting on the day.

Fe 15 P2 Football Championship SF vs Eire Og Sat Nov 3rd

The Fe 15 footballers played their championship semi-final in Pairc Ui Chaoimh’s 4G pitch earlier this month. This was a great game that had everything. Nemo were sharper than Eire Og in the first half and playing with the wind they held a 4 point advantage at the short whistle. Early in the second half after a great attacking move Nemo missed a certain goal and this was to prove costly. With 15 minutes to go they led by 3 points. But the concession of two quick goals gave Eire Og the momentum coming into the closing stages. But still Nemo battled hard and in the end it was Eire Og who were hanging on as Nemo looked for an equalizer, but it was not to be and they lost out 4-11 to 4-08 to a fine Eire Og team. We wish them well in the final. For Nemo this was the end of their year but they can be very satisfied with their performances and they are a very much improved team from the start of the year. Well done to their coaches and the boys themselves for all the hard work they put in throughout the year.

Fe 16 Camogie Championship QF vs Ballinhassig Sun Nov 4th

The Fe 16 camogie tam entertained Ballinhassig in the championship earlier this month. Played under lights in awful conditions this was a real battling display by the Nemo girls. Earlier this year they had lost heavily to the same opposition. But the Nemo girls have worked hard on their hurling skill throughout the year and this really showed on the night. They matched Ballinhassig for skill and determination. If they had taken some of their chances they could well have won the game. But in the end Ballinhassig prevailed on a score line of 1-04 to 1-01. A great performance by the Nemo girls against excellent opposition. It shows how far the Nemo girls have come this year. Well done to all involved.

Fe 18 C3 Football League SF vs Mallow Mon Nov 5th

The Fe 18 C3 footballers played their league semi-final last Monday under lights in Trabeg. The boys seemed to always be in control of this game without ever putting daylight between themselves and Mallow. They played a good brand of attacking football but they were a little wasteful in front of goal. Indeed the game was only decided with a few minutes to go by a fortunate goal for Nemo. A kick for a point by half forward Robert Dillon came off the upright and was pounced on by Nemo full forward Scott Philpott who dispatched the ball to the net. It was that type of night for the visitors who had little luck. In the end Nemo recorded a 2-11 to 0-09 win and they can now look forward to a league final against Valley Rovers.

Fe 13 Football League SF vs Douglas Sat Nov 10th

The Fe 13 boys played their league semi-final away to Douglas last weekend. They started very well and were soon 1-02 to no score up. But Douglas settled and got right back into the game with some well taken scores of their own. At half time Douglas led by a goal. The second half was very competitive with good phases of play from both teams. But Nemo didn’t take a lot of the chances that came their way and this was to prove costly in the end. The final score was 3-08 to 1-04 in favour of the home team. The Nemo boys played very well and have continued to improve throughout the year. Overall a very encouraging year for the team.

Fe 12 C3 Football League Final vs Glanmire Sat Nov 10th

The Fe 12 boys renewed rivalry with Glanmire last weekend in the C3 league final. As with the league game between the sides which ended in a draw, this was a very entertaining and close affair. Nemo lead by 4 points at the break but an early goal from the visitors brought them right back into the game. After that it was point for point between the sides until a late goal sealed the win for Nemo. Final score was 2-06 to 2-02 for the Nemo boys. This finished off a great year for the boys who have developed their football skills throughout the year. Well done to all involved.
