Jim Cremin Over 35s Memorial Tournament
This Saturday Nemo Rangers will welcome teamsl to our fourth annual Jim Cremin Over 35s football tournament. It is fantastic to have so many teams returning to support this event again this year along with the arrival of a good few new teams from near and far.
This event was established to mark the passing of one of the Nemo greats — Jim Cremin. Jim was in many ways the heartbeat of the club. He was involved in numerous teams over many years from underage to Junior B football to Junior hurling and senior football. However, Jim was much more than a coach — he was a mentor, inspiration, problem solver, sports psychologist (ever before they were popular), masseur, legal counsel and confidante.
Jim didn’t care who you were or what colours you wore, if you needed help he was there for you. Much of the work he did and support he provided to students in his role as a teacher in Coláiste Chríost Rí and in Nemo was unseen — he never looked for credit, he just got on with it in a quiet and understated way.
We all miss Jim terribly and his loss is deeply felt throughout the club. The tournament is a small way to remember him and show what Jim meant to us.
