Nemo Rangers 1-17 Lough Rovers 0-7

Nemo Rangers booked their place in the AOS Security Football League Division 3 Final with a commanding victory over Lough Rovers in Trabeg on Tuesday evening. A powerful second-half display saw Nemo pull away after leading by four points at the break, eventually running out convincing 13-point winners.

Played in changeable conditions at Trabeg, Nemo settled quickly and were ahead inside the opening minute thanks to a fine Dylan Mehigan effort from distance. Early points from Niall Weldon helped the home side gain control before Jerry Kerins struck the game’s decisive moment on 14 minutes. After excellent work from Philly Hogan and Paul Hogan in the build-up, Kerins reacted quickest to finish cleverly to the net and give Nemo a strong foothold in the contest.

Lough Rovers responded with a series of points to stay in touch, but Nemo continued to find scores through Brian O’Regan and John O’Keeffe. The home side carried a 1-5 to 0-4 advantage into the interval after an energetic and disciplined first-half performance.

Nemo took complete control after the restart. Eoin Weldon opened the second-half scoring before Jerry Kerins began to dominate the attack. Kerins clipped over a superb two-point free and followed it with another excellent score from play as Nemo’s lead stretched further and further. Brian O’Regan then produced one of the scores of the evening with a spectacular two-pointer from distance, before Kerins raised another orange flag with an outrageous left-footed effort from the sideline.

While Lough Rovers battled gamely throughout, Nemo’s pace, movement and long-range accuracy proved decisive. Scores from Dylan Mehigan and Eoin Weldon rounded off an impressive night for the hosts, who finished strongly despite the darkening skies in Trabeg.

Jerry Kerins finished as Nemo’s top scorer with 1-6 in a standout performance, while Eoin Weldon contributed 0-3, Brian O’Regan added a brilliant 0-3, and Niall Weldon chipped in with 0-2. Nemo also showed their strength in depth with several second-half substitutions helping maintain the intensity right through to the final whistle.

The victory secures Nemo Rangers’ place in the AOS Security Football League Division 3 Final after a dominant and composed display in front of their home support at Trabeg.
